The West Salem High School Performing Arts Department offers a comprehensive vocal music and theatre arts program. In 2004, the community provided the school district with a beautiful 650 seat performing arts center - The Marie W. Heider Center for the Arts, which includes a scene shop, dressing rooms, dance studio and art gallery.



 

Students involved in Choir and Show Choir perform in numerous school concerts and community performances throughout the school year.    The Concert Choir has travelled with the band to New York City and performed on numerous occasions at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, Orlando.

The Theatre Arts Department offers Theatre Arts Classes that teach production skills including acting, directing, playwriting, costuming and technical theatre.  Theatre history is integrated throughout the curriculum.   The Theatre Arts Department produces 3-5 productions a year including the summer musical, one-act play, Intro to Theatre Class production &

Fall/Winter play.
